When all required approvals have approved the approval requests for a specific workflow step, the workflow transition is allowed.
The workflow transition can be allowed also by setting the Minimun Requested Approvals (MRA) or the Conditional Minimum Requested Approvals (CMRA) to a value different by All (default).
Keep in mind that this setting has no effect on Automatic Workflow transition requiring all required approvals have been approved.
Starting by add-on version 3.9 Automatic Workflow transition( AWT) can be correlated with MRA and CMRA settings so that the issue will transition when the specified number of approvals have been approved. This behavior can be enabled via the Global Configuration screen.
Depending by the approval mapping configuration the upcoming scenarios are listed bellow:
- if the AWT box has been unchecked, the transition is displayed, as showed on the following screenshot:
if the AWT box has been checked, the issue is automatically transitioned to the destination status.
Depending by the Automatic workflow transition global settings the issue can be transitioned with or without running the configured workflow's post functions and checking the conditions and validators.
If the Forced Automatic Transition has been flagged, the issue transitioning is always performed successfully .
If the Responsive Automatic Transition has been flagged and conditions and validators have not been validated, the following alert will be displayed:
If it is the case multiple behaviors are allowed:
- the issue can be transitioned manually after that you have validated configured conditions and validators
- the issue can be transitioned by the system administrator via a bulk operation
- the system administrator can transition the issue (without checking the conditions and validators and running the configured workflow's post functions) by clicking Force issue Transition.
